I need to wash a long white mane but it’s too cold for a proper hose job. Has anyone used the no rinse shampoos with success please? What was your method? X
4 of my 6 horses have been grey. You can use the dry shampoo on their coat with fairly decent results but I've never found a product that works better (or anywhere near as well) on a white mane or tail than hot water and shampoo.
I used to swear by a no rinse shampoo, it was a spray on, leave, rub with a towel job and it was fab. I think it was hydrophane but think they've stopped trading?
Equimins do one which I've bought but haven't used.
Sue Shuttleworth (coloured cob producer and judge) mentioned one in a video, she hasn't that many videos if you want to look.
I am not convinced they are that different from a normal coat spray, they seem to be very silicone heavy and you end up with quite a slippy horse!
I saw this recommended on here, recently, so bought some (Winter Wash, on the right hand side of the page). I've only used it once, on a poopy/grimy tail and bum and was very impressed. It took a lot of dirt out of the tail and it felt quite conditioned the next day, when it had dried.
