Can anyone recommend something to stop my leather boots (Ariat Volante) from squeaking like mad on my saddle?! Ive barely used them since I got them last year purely because the noise annoys me. Have tried rubbing lots of conditioner into them but still make a noise - anyone know what conditioner / cleaner / spray might stop it? I'm used to my good old pair of Bromonts which have the suede inside leg so never make a sound, but they're so well used the seam went on them last weekend!

Mine do this too. Iv got toggi calgarys which don't but have brogini for comps and they do.
I have synthetic saddle tho so wonder if that's the issue. I have also noticed it is worse if tack and boots clean rather than dirty!

You need old fashioned clear Cherry Blossom Dubbin, you simply cannot beat it for stopping the squeak. Tip given to me by a dressage judge a few years back.

I've tried every dubbin under the sun and seriously this is the only one out there that works superbly. Use it on my Brogini and daughters Sarms and they never squeak now.

Rub it in every time you use them with a yellow duster, we even keep some in the boot bags and give them another wipe over before the class.

I've found it helps if you clean the boots and saddle with same saddle cleaner - I've been using horseman 1step. I forgot last time I cleaned my boots - applied my urad cleaner and beeswax and the squeaking was awful.

Great, thanks - will first try the Horseman 1step just because I have a pot of that already! Got BS tomorrow so lets see if we squeak round! If so, then I'll get some Cherry Blossom Dubbin. Thanks!

Dizzydancer - Mine is a leather saddle so its the leather on leather that's doing it, might be worth a try of these things people have mentioned though on yours ;)
