I would some advice and to settle a conversation i had with a friend about my gelding . When he trots a breaking wind noise can be heard from underneath now i have heard this sound from other geldings and believed it came from the sheath , My friend has stated she thinks its coming from his belly .This might sound totally stupid but it as began to bug me now he is only three and unbroken and as always done it he does have quite a large sheath for his size the vet said it was nothing to worry about and that its just air being pushed out does anyone elses gelding do it????

It's his sheath squeaking, definitely. Incredibly common in stallions and many geldings do it too. My five year old has only been gelded a couple of years - if that - and he does it, especially when exerting himself trotting or cantering. He's not particular well endowed though !

Friend's stallion was gelded at 15 yo he did it before and then for about a year afterwards but now doesn't do it at all. When was your lad cut?

You may find that as he gets older and more used to exercise that it will stop. You've already noticed that he only does it when moving - probably at a fairly energetic trot. By the time you are riding him he may well have stopped altogether

I hope so , yes your right he only does it in trot i,m sure i have not heard it in canter he is a bit on the tubby side so when he does come into full work the fat around his sheath should lesson because i,m sure it was not as loud when he was leaner . Thanks for that Chicomio : )

Have been on many that did this, I never imagined it was a willy noise

, I always thought it was their tummy.

Will never be able to hear that again without PMPL

Yes, know the noise well. My gelding has always done it, now 10 yr old and he does it when hes spooky or on his toes. I just know when I hear the noise we are in for fun and games
