Hope someone can help with this, don't want to get the vet out and look like an idiot...

Noticed my 5 yr old is breathing noisily when exercised (nothing like roaring, more like breathing with a cold). It doesn't seem to affect her but it's not something you normally hear.
She had an accident in the field last year, we think she ran into a fencepost and her facial crest was very swollen. Just wondered if that could have affected the airway or possibly nerves?
Can't find a decent piccie of head anatomy to see what's underneath the facial crest and where the airway runs...

Best to get the vet to be safe, do you think?

Yes I would speak to the vet. It could be lots of things or it could be nothing to worry about. It could be something which requires different management too. So really a vet needs to advise.

the facial nerve does come close to the surface so she may well have injured it, did she have noisy breathing soon after the accident? if so then that is quite likely, alternatively she may have caused aslight fracture whcih may have healed incorrectly narrowing the nasal passage, she would need a phys exam and then perhaps a scope/xray of the nasal passage to determine the cause.
