Posted in NL last week but thought you guys would be more helpful....

My little filly foal makes the silliest noises when eating hard feed. sort of like snoring/growling. She's 100% and vet has no idea why she's doing it.

Any one else had this? It's not very ladylike....

Have you considered that the foal might be a roarer or a whistler? It can be caused by anything which interferes with the smooth passage of this air flow through the pharynx and/or larynx. If foalie is making noises when feeding, then it could be that food is getting stuck in the pharynx or larynx. It could possibly be a problem with the foals epiglottis or any of the surrounding structures. Perhaps you should get her scoped to make sure food isn't getting into the lungs, or causing any problems.

Let us know if you find anything out!

I did worry about that - although she makes no noise when galloping about in the field

Thought it might be a bit intrusive to have her scoped at the mo - perhaps worth waiting til she's at least a yearling??

She is a greedy monster tho' so it could be that too....
