I have tried everything to stop my horses sheath from making (alot) of noise when he gets into a trot!!

Baby oil, liquid paraffin, some of the lovely products with tea tree etc etc etc but he still makes noise...... someone said some horses just always make that noise but surely not!!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions????

The noise you can hear is just wind being expelled from the sheath. Some say it is more noticable when the horse is tense and pulls the penis further up inside the sheath. None of the products you mentioned will make any difference!

Oh... well it that case i feel alot better and leave the poor boys bits alone!! lol

I was told recently by a very good instructor and judge that they make this noise when they use their core muscles as the sheath pulls up like a valve. It's a good noise! Also explains why he does it in trot ;)

Which is how I know that my lad is actually working properly, as he is great at fooling you when he's working over his back when actually he's just being lazy!

Is it very wrong that I have never encountered a horse with a 'noisy sheath' in my life and am now a bit intrigued to find out what it sounds like!? I don't think I need an answer to my own question, actually... :/

Casino solo you will of for sure that funny noise you often hear in warm u ring coz all the boys tense , it's hard to describe but I'm sure you will off herd it

110% is tension my boy does it when you have asked for canter - he just learning it and gets his knickers in a twist over it and when he breaks back into trot it's really loud as he all tense and upset then he starts to settle again and slowly goes away

Not a noise you want to hear your boy making .

It depends, I hear it sometimes in dressage test and always seem to get good marks for those movements. Some tests at a local RC are judged by a list 1 judge (she judged at Hickstead this year - Helen Webber) so they know what they're doing!

My instructor told me the sheath part was an old wives tale - which why mares do it ;) that it's tension in the abdomen... The times I've seen it happen since hearing that, the horse has been drawn up and tense, so made sense to me.
