Recently I posted that we had finally found a pony for bubs. He is turning out to be a real character and is making a little girl (and her mum

) really happy.
I was interested in finding out more about him. On his passport the registered owner was a J Owen at Nolton Stables Pemb.
I have emailed them several times but to no avail. The website seems a professional job and TBH I would have expected a reply. Does anyone know anything about them?
Do they buy and sell??
I know I cant make them reply but surely its manners????
Does anyone recognise this pony??

OH MY GOD Pudpud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my wonderful, wonderful Sullivan (RIP xxx) from John Owen in Nolton Stables!!! I'd had a bad experience with a previous horse and I needed something sane and safe and kind. Sulllivan was one of their "star" rides. They used to put American tourists on him and round up the cattle on the working farm at the end of the day and the tourists loved it. Sullivan was 16 when I bought him and was getting to the point where he needed his workload slowed down. If you look at their website, the 14.2 grey that is in many of the pics is Sullivan!!!

I've been back to Nolton Stables a couple of times just to have the most fabulous, safe beach ride you will ever ever experience. John Owen buys safe hairy Irish cobs for his trekking business and the beach ride often has about 20+ riders on it. They all arrive on the beach and he says right, who wants to just walk, who wants to trot and who wants to canter? And I'm sat there in terror thinking yeah right, one goes, the whole bl00dy lot are gonna go. But no!!!! The walkers walk, the trotters trot and the canterers canter!

John does a little breeding and dealing. I part exed my loopy pony for Sullivan and I know John took him right back to basics, discovered he was a perfect competition jumping pony (and NOT the plod he'd been sold to me as lol) and sold him on. He was Chair of the All Wales Trekking Association for a number of years and is highly respected. They have a very professional, safety conscious business and John is also involved with a scheme to educate Eastern European countries re horse businesses to benefit the people and the horses. So he is a very busy man.

How old is your pony and what height and what's his name???? It was about 8 years ago I sold my horse to him and he was 6 at the time so he would have been 14 ish now? Can't quite tell from your pix if it's the same boy!!!

I have been to Nolton on Holiday several times, and they have always been brilliant at replying to emails quickly. Maybe you could try again, or as Zalacca said try giving them a call. They are really helpful and friendly in my experience!

My boy is 6 born 15th May 2002 and is 12h. Welsh sec A.
I didn't get him direct from Nolton-I have a feeling he may have been sold to a showing home and then passed from pillar to post. I am very interested in finding out his breeding and how a bit of his ear came to be missing!!!
He is turning out to be a superstar in disguise! The bond between him and bubs is unreal!!!
Someone started this pony off well, and then I think he fell into the wrong hands.
I'm determined to make up for that!!!
He is listed as being called Goldie.

Aaaah. My boy was Harrison. He didn't have a name when I bought him and I always told people if I could have my wish I'd wake up on Christmas morning and find either Harrison Ford or a horse tucked in my Christmas stocking! So little nameless horse was called Harrison lol! If Goldie has been through John Owens hands Pudpud, he'll have been given a good start. It's where he's been in the meantime that could be interesting. He looks lovely. I'd try ringing JO, after 6 or 7pm is best x

My boy (the bay in my signature) came from Nolton stables, his name "Nolton Camelot " is a bit of a giveaway

and although he is turned away at the moment (due to bad experiences and injuries) he is a lovely friendly horse. John Owen is a lovely man with a vast knowledge of buying, selling and breeding horses - oh and the beach rides are fab !!

I've always had prompt replies to my phone calls , not tried to email so can't comment there .
