My new boy is a 15hh cobx
He was very overweight when I got him 5 weeks ago but with regular work and cutting out most of his hard feed he is now looking good.

He doesn't have much energy now though - or not as much as he did when he came so I'm looking for a non heating energy feed to give him.

He is ridden 6 days a week
Saturday he will be hunted - at the moment he goes on a fun ride with lots of fast work to get him ready for hunting
Sunday off
Monday hack
Tuesday school (45 -60 mins)
Wednesday hack
Thursday dressage lesson (60 mins hard work)
Friday hack or lunge on pessoa

At the moment he gets grass during the day, a big hay net at night with a handful of alpha a and a handful of course mix (just because thats what I had my old boy on and he did really well on it)

Thanks

I would agree with trying a balancer. At the moment he isn't getting all the vits and mins he may need for his workload, which won't help energy levels! Try a balancer, and just add oats when necessary (before hunting etc) to give him a bit more "pep". I use Hickstead Horse feeds at the moment because their prices are good, and their feed works well, and they do a balancer for £17.99 which maybe worth a try?
