Non HGV, 3 horse with living for £30,000??

Hi all.

We've been trying to find the above for some weeks now to no avail and was wondering if anyone knew of one.

We have seen some wonderful lorries, even put down a deposit on one but after a trip to the weighbridge we found that it would be over weight with the horses, tack, people ect.

We will mostly be carrying 2 horses and a pony but would like the option of being able to take another horse instead of the pony and so idealy we want it to weigh roughly 5.5 ton unladen.

Living needs to be smart though we would consider one without living for a lower price. We want to be able to sleep 4 (ones we've seen so far have two over the cab and the seating converts in to another small double), have cooking appliances, heating ect.

So, is the above impossible or does someone know of anything!?

It sounds like you need something built for you to your spec. My box came from Ian McNeill in Hampshire, and is exactly what I wanted - 4 horse with a small bit of storage/seating/changing area and under the weight (so long as they aren't 4 carthorses!). I'd give him or David Woolford a ring 01420 562249 and see what they say. They are building all the time anyway so may already have something or may be able to build it for you.

I think that, like RR says, you'll have to have one made to spec.

You'll get what you want so long as materials are uber lightweight.

I havent seen one in the flesh but have a look at Kevin Parker horseboxes, they are definately lightweight.

I've got a Kevin Parker Helios. You can get a 4.7 tonne unladen or a 4.9 tonne unladen. Brilliant box, lovely living and excellent service. If you google him he's got a website. PM me if you want anymore info!

Snap! That is exactly what we are looking for too with the same budget! I thought it would be easy to find but like yourself have since found it isnt!

The Kevin Parkers are nice, we saw the nice blue one that is on his website at Newark but that one is £59k and the living part wasnt what we wanted anyway (Good job really!)
I was debating giving him a call and seeing what he could do for my budget as the build quality was excellent.

If you find somebody that makes them for our budget please share and I will do the same!
