Now i know why they say, 'terribke two's' πŸ™„πŸ˜‚.
School pickup was a nightmare today, my two year old had a tantrum coming out of school, her two sisters being very well behaved, she on the other hand, sat on the floor screaming πŸ™ƒ. Felt like someone had just shot me in the chest to be honest, all the other parents staring at me, as if they'd never been through that ,πŸ™„

Oh blimey, I have been there and done that more times than I care to remember! πŸ˜‚

I remember carrying my eldest out of a shop after she refused to listen to me. She screamed hysterically, was horizontal and stiff as a board. I just ignored it, plonked her in the car, and took her home.

DS used to have tantrums lasting nearly an hour. That was fun. πŸ™„

Every parent has been there, but when you are in the midst of a tantrum, it is so easy to feel like it only happens to you. Just hang on in there - it will get better (until they hit teenage years then it's another ball game completely) 😬

And remember, don't be tempted to 'look forward' to a time when they are older because there will be different problems then, which might not be as straight forward as the terrible twos.

I am sure there isn't a parent out there who hasn't had to deal with a tantrum. I feel very lucky that my son only ever had one and that was in Tesco's because I refused to buy him doughnuts and sweets. Being made to make a choice at two years old seemed more than he could deal with. When he started banging his head on the shelf and shouting 'not the doughnuts' as i put them back just made me laugh, it really was funny. He stopped immediately when I laughed and he never had another one. He is 24 now and when he gets stroppy I ask him if he is having a doughnut moment. It does irritate me when I see parents just handing their screaming child whatever they are screaming for and then wonder why they scream every time they want to get their own way.

OP I'm sure you're doing a sterling job!! Both of mine had many tantrums at that age, I can remember leaving my eldest face down screaming in the frozen food aisle in Tesco while I scarpered to the end and waited - when she realised I wasn't there she gave up, got up and came to find me. My youngest I just refused point blank to take her anywhere near a shop for years.

However I'd take toddler tantrums ALL DAY LONG FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE in exchange for the utter s#@t show that is teenage daughters!!!!
