My dad just text me asking if I'm going to any street parties this weekend (where I live doesn't exactly have the community feel!) so I told him that instead my instructor was coming over and I was going to have a lesson this afternoon. His reply "I didn't think you still needed lessons".

People say this to me all the time. 'Why would you need lessons still?'

Grandfather thinks he is a horse expert and used to regularly inform me that I had better get cracking with jumping my 4yo ex-racer because he was already too old really.

Ha my mum comes out with some crackers, the last one being did you feel your hat silk fly off, bearing in mind I was going xc . Erm no mum!

On my remark that he wasnt off my leg, how can he get off your leg your sat on him  :D.

My lovely dad bought me a new back protector at the weekend. whilst being fitted in the shop, he wandered off............found him sitting on a saddle facing the wrong way, loudly saying to the shop girl "I would send this saddle back its very uncomfortable"

On my remark that he wasnt off my leg, how can he get off your leg your sat on him  :D.

Haha I actually snorted out loud at this!

I too get the 'why do you still need lessons?'...I have to say I usually find the comments that non-horsey people say funny but it does annoy me when my friends inform me that they can ride too...they rode a pony once. On holiday. When they were 6. :p
