I gave birth to our daughter on Sunday, all a bit traumatic and a month early but doing well now. On Monday my wonderful OH bought a copy of Horse & Hound in for me to look at classifieds for lead rein ponies (to cheer me up as all little girls will need a pony!)

The midwife came in and asked us how decisions were going, I told her we wouldn't really be looking for a pony for a while as she'll need to be quite a bit bigger to ride regularly ............................................... the midwife then clarified she was asking whether we'd decided on a name yet?

Hehe brilliant! Mom had me on her old lad at 8 weeks old ;)

Friend was wishing for winter (?!?!) I told her I was sick of the never ending winter of last yr, front bite, mud, mud rash and rain scald, etc... she told ne to stop riding horses in cold muddy fields!! :D

Congratulations PM! Hope you are both doing wellx

A daughter - how lovely; much easier to indoctrinate into the world of ponies!!

How about Araminta for a name?!!

Congratulation to your new baby, and Aw! what a lovely other half.

As for the rest , brilliant.

:D

Congratulations on your new arrival! Enjoy the first few weeks, they go so quickly. Good luck with chosing the name. And how convenient that she came early, you'll be able to bring your horse back into work quicker than you were expecting. ;):p

Haha love it! Congratulations on your new little girl!

When people ask me if I will have a baby soon (you know, as people do?!) I say well I suppose it would be nice to have a rider for my small pony who is a companion at present. My best friend is having a little girl in the autumn... I've told them they'd better get saving as she's going to be pony mad!

Congratulations! Great news!

Mine is due in 3-5 weeks (number 1 came at 38 weeks so I'm banking on no 2 being the same - if its not there'll be trouble!). I actually caught myself thinking this morning that I'd better make an appointment with the saddle fitter so we could be ready to go once baby arrives...

Then I came to my senses and remembered things like stitches and breast feeding from last time!!!

Congratulations! And not a bad thing she's arrived early - just means you can get riding again sooner!
I'm pregnant (6 weeks to go) so fingers crossed mine will do the same! Lol!

Congratulations, and tbh i already have my childs pony... we have only ever just talked about the idea, and no way confirmed it will happen...BUT i already have the pony lmao! :D

Congratulations :)

My OH has said no pony until the children are able to muck out on their own!
Thankfully, neither are that interested, so it is still my little haven of time on my own :)

Thanks all, and good luck to all those in similar situations!

My boy has been out of work since November so I suspect I'll need to get a little fitter before I hop on (especially after a C section!) but nice to be able to start counting the days down and booking my instructor to come and take him out for a spin in the week before I'm ready!!

We've chose Harriet for my new daughters name (Polo is the name of my big horse so that might be a touch confusing!!)

Congratulations, Harriet is a lovely name. I envy all you early poppers. My three were all two weeks late. I keep looking at ponies but am not allowed one until one of the old ladies shuffles off - it makes me feel guilty to even window shop!
