Just having a little rant about people not paying their dues. If you cant afford to keep horses dont keep taking on extra ones. Im very anti people expecting others to fund their lifes styles, not just horsey issues either!

yep, totally agree......I know of one family with several children and parents have never worked and have 3 horses for her and the daughters in livery.....costing I would imagine in excess of £60 per week DIY. Madness!!
I also know others that really can't afford their horses and scrimp on the necessities such as hay until payday.....then wonder why horse is a hatrack!
Other's won't bring horses in because they can't afford petrol too and from yard twice a day.....
My firm favourite is one lady who CAN afford it but can't be arsed! She bought a TB last October and visits it once a week and ridden it twice....she's not surprisingly moved on.

where do they get money to keep horses then? i doubt the brew offers enough for that!?

lots liek this in the horse world. I am not the richest but I would rather put myself out than skimp on things for my horse...I'd rather starve myself than let my horse.

I agree to an extent i have not paid mine this week as have temporally not been working YO in same line of work so knows what its like however i do have another job that normally pays for my horses so its not a big issue.

Unfortunately I think we all know some one like this :( I know I do. To the point she will ignore phone calls from the farmer asking if she wants hay (owes him money) and from the YM (owes field rent) but can quite happily go out on the town getting bladdered with her mates of a weekend and post about it on FB

Theres no shame either. I would be mortified if I owed hundreds for livery. Im struggling but farm owner struggling too. Must admit if they can get away with it makes me feel like
letting mine slide too, but conscience wouldnt let me.
