I'm ebaying a few odds and sods at the moment - end of line stuff and seem to be having problems with non paying bidders. Six items sold 10 days ago and only 3 buyers have paid so far.

So annoying, why do they do it.

I'm sure the fact that sellers can only give 'positive' feedback these days has contributed to this happening.

Anyone else had similar problems or have I just been unlucky? Feel rather fed up with ebay atm

ye, i recently (well 2 months ago) sold a summer sheet, i'd be sent the wrong size, 4ft6 instead of 6ft 6!! twice it has sold and twice no one has paid. sent loads of messages, invoices etc and left for over 8 weeks at a time with no payment or reply. can only think in my case they'd not realsied the size until one they'd bought. still wouldnt hurt just to respond to my messages and admit their error!!!

All 3 of my non payers were for diddy summer sheets too! 2 x 4'3 and 1 x 4'6. Wonder if there is a band of demented pony owners just bidding for fun.

ye how odd. i reckon folk dont see the size and think its a major bargin. thing is i've been (i'm a wimp) really nice with my messages saying, i understand you may not have realsied the size etc etc, pls let me know f you still want. still no replies! thats just rude!!!

I hate eBay at the moment too!! Have only ever tried to sell two things, one iPhone, sold three times to dodgy scam, gave up after that! And a pair of jods, where after problems with my paypal account (could see payment but not able to transfer it) I stupidly posted them anyway while paypal fixed it because I didn't want to make her wait, and the buyer took her money back quick as soon as she had them! So I still have yet to be paid for anything at all!! Grrrr...!!

Blimey Dobbin, that really is bad, makes mine look very trivial. I wish ebay would get tough with the scammers and non payers, but let's face it they don't care as they get their money whatever happens

I always pay for my purchases immediately I click to buy or the auction ends. I can't understand people not paying, I understood it was supposed to be a legal contract. Mind you, I won an auction for a dining suite a few weeks ago and the seller obviously didn't get what he expected. I eventually got a message to say it had been water damaged and did I still want it, I wrote back saying I would like to look at it and decide but again, eventually, got another saying he had taken it to the tip because it was so badly damaged. I was furious and told him so but there was nothing I could do about it. I wouldn't dream of not paying for something I had bid on, people have weird morals I think!

I sold a trailer on there a couple of years ago. The buyer asked me to keep it for 2 weeks as he was in another part of the country, and I reluctantly agreed even though my original ad said it must be collected within 1 week.

Four weeks later he claimed to be on his way, then called me constantly saying there was heavy traffic and he didn't know if he would make it on time. I told him no problem, just to give me 15 minutes notice and I'd meet him at the farm. Eventually I just got no more calls, he turned his mobile off and it was obvious he'd never been on the way at all.

He then left negative feedback (destroying my 100%) claiming that I had refused to arrange a time to pick up the trailer! When I looked at his history on eBay he had actually bought another trailer in a similar condition to mine from somone about 150 miles closer to where he claimed to live! He actually did this to at least three other people, and I was furious that eBay continued to let him trading, but as someone else has said - as long as they get their money, eBay don't care.

dont get me started - sold a saddle on there then the woman sent me an email a few days later saying she'd changed her mind and didnt need it now!! I was sooooooooo annoyed what a muppet!!!! Ebay refunded me like £7 or something pointless but i couldnt leave negative feedback what a joke!! now the bloody saddle wont sell

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I sold something for my Dad recently that needed to be collected. A week after the sale had ended and after I'd sent an invoice and a chaser email, the buyer replied and said he was abroad for another 8 days and would I mind waiting?

I wouldn't have done if he'd have emailed me in the first place!

As it was, he sent a man in a van to collect the item after about 5 days.

I just don't think a lot of people see it the same way as I/we do!

And second to that, I sold another huge thing that needed to be collected.

A woman who'd got only 1 feedback score bid and 'won' it, she was from 200 miles away.

I emailed her for about a month, and she kept me hanging saying she was making arrangements to collect it etc etc. I tried her phone number but that was dead....and then she stopped replying to my messages, so it was all a farce!

I managed to sell it to the next bidder down and he haggled when he came to collect it, so it was all rather irritating.

yes, i've got one item that's not been paid for at the moment, just going through ebay to get my fees back. It's so annoying, why bid if they're not going to buy
