Hi Guys,

I sold a pair of T/O boots to a member on here a couple of months ago now.
She said she had posted a cheque which never arrived. I've recently sent a follow up letter, politely asking for my money. Still no avail! So I thought I would try on here, before I just stop by her address in person!

The member is Jenna500 & coincidently hasn't been online since they arrived with her.

If anyone knows her, can you please give her a gentle reminder! They were brand new & I sold them for such a good & very cheap price! But I'm not a charity case .....

Anyone ....
Thanks

Hannah

I've got some Westropp knee brushing boots to sell but this is what puts me off, its not safe completing transactions on here

its such a shame when this happens as I have brought a few things off members on here (including a lorry!!!)
i have just purchased a dually headcollar off a very nice member and once price was agreed i paid via paypal.
I think if payment is made via a online service then you are much safer as you can send the goods when payments are received.
its a shame that others ruin it for the honest ones!!
maybe if someone lives local and they are brave maybe they can speak to said person!! if its cambs way let me know! :D

I wouldnt have sent the boots until I received the cheque. Paypal is the easiest and quickest way too. I've sold a rug to a lovely regular HHO user and had no troubles :)

Same as Lynnskatz

I have sold a few items via HHO and never had a problem, although always wait payment before sending the item

Sorry to hear you've had trouble though, hope it gets sorted quickly :)

Off subject, but I helped a nice sounding HHO person last year, and gave them details of our yard to enquire for livery. I don't want to go into details, because I really wish I hadn't as the girl who owns the horse is a disgrace.

If it wasn't for our YO looking after the horse out of goodwill (and that fact that she wont have a neglected animal on her yard), the horse would be a neglect case if left entirely to its strange and elusive owner.

It just goes to show, what people write on here, is not always what they practice !!!!!!!

Which is exactly why I would never recommend my own yard - I like it as it is and I prefer to maintain my own anonymity!

Bit daft sending the boots to a perfect stranger, who could have been 14, without payment first---- wouldnt see that happening on ebay!

Exactly!! people are not always what you think.

Remember all the people that helped with the Amersham case!! well I know one particular person involved was a complete disgrace, kept her horse in a terrible way.

To be honest I expected more from someone on here! Otherwise I wouldn't have sent it with the trust that I did. It's not a great sum of money, otherwise it would been a collect jobby or payment first. My fault for thinking they seemed on a level!

I will casually be calling in if my cheque doesn't materialize! I have to pass her way very soon ..... ;)

Are you even sure that's their address though/ Just be careful, you could end up in more bother than you need over something relatively small.

Please don't be put off, next time though, paypal first :)

I should imagine so, as she contacted me when they arrived ... & let me know they were fantastic

have a look for her on facebook, see if you have any mutual friends who could have a word. or, see if she's in the Pony Club, and if so, contact her DC... that's what someone on here suggested i should do to get my tophat and tails back from an HHOer who had 'forgotten' to return them when promised. they came back. :) :) she's 'forgotten' to send me the £11 to have them dry cleaned too (she promised to get that done, but sent them back filthy, creased (not even put in their cover, just scrunched in a ball next to it) and minus 2 buttons... popped off because she fibbed about her size!
anyway, her DC had a word and my tails were returned, so it's a good route to take if you need to. very best of luck, hope you get paid for them. some people have no morals at all.
so, no, not everyone on here is nice and decent, unfortunately, but most are...

Well according to the 2011 electoral role there is someone with her exact name living at the address I have .... shame I don't have any credits on 192 to access her blooming phone number!
