New Roly Poly loan pony with its own tack but saddle slips a bit. May be a better fit when it has lost some weight (or may end up having to fork out for a new one

!) but in meantime was going to try one of these. Any suggestions?? I know NEW and Prolite do one. Thanks!

Thanks ISHY but you obviously have had a better experience with these than I did. I was not very impressed with the Limpet pad I bought for my horse. It split down the middle after very little use

so I wanted to try another make.

The Barnsby Grip Pad (numnah) actually works. It has grippy stuff BOTH sides. I have a roly poly cob and after 9 years the saddle finally doesn't slip! Bit pricey but worth it.

imo the best, cheapest and most natural for the horse is a good old piece of chamois leather placed on the horse's back, underneath whatever ordinary numnah or pad you want to use. You can get an average size bit in any car accessories place or DIY shop (about 12x18") or I get mine, about 3' square, off the internet for about £8-£12

Have to say I've heard really bad stories about homemade pads using the non-slip stuff on a roll - it makes the horse sweat up and can come away taking all the hair with it

Second that. We have been using the same one for three years now and it is still in great condition.
Oh and it does help stop the saddle slipping!

Thanks everyone - loads of really good suggestions

. Like the look of the Barnsby numnah...although not as keen on price! The chamois leather is also worth a go.

I have used the Limpet and it was alot better than the Prolite non slip pad I used, but after a lot of wear my Limpet is no longer gripping the same. I had the white one and it has also discoloured badly.

Where can you get the Impakt pads?

I am tempted to buy the Cliff barnsby one, but silly question.. how big are they? I have a 14.1 pony and it seems the pads are full size only. I have used the full size limpet though.

Will give the chamois leather a go too and see what happens! I have a VERY wide conemmara pony with no wither!

I have the same problem -- at 14hh connemara who is wide and has no withers! --

I have been trying to decide what to go for - a Limpet pad or gel-eze -- or any of the other suggestions but can't make my mind up! -- Have you had any luck?
