I have leathers backed with fabric and they have been great I think they were from Robinsons and they have lasted me for years! Think having the reinforced fabric on the back stops ths stretch!

This is one of the things you get what you pay for & safety is paramount. I have Harry Dabbs ones with the nylon core, no stretching. They were about £60ish I think.
Bridle Boutique on Ebay (FSS Saddlery) do very similar ones for around £30, what price your safety?

My experience is that the leathers dont stretch but the holes do. Even on lined leathers. On my orginal pair the hole I always used stretched and I eventually replaced those leathers.
It was relly quite lunatic as in riding lessons I rode in the stirrups and leathers provided by the RS. It was only when hackng that I insisted on my safety stirrups and had them on my own leathers.
