I keep on trying. Honest. I do. But this having the last post instead of the last thread is a major pain :(

It makes it less friendly if that makes sense (and if it doesn't make sense then I blame m'cold ). I definately spend less time on here and I really quite miss it :(. Getting loads of work done and getting out and about, but missing a lot of people on here who's posts I would look for; they just don't seem to be on so much. I've also noticed that, apart from the odd handful, the majority of threads don't get the number of views that they used to.

Ah well.

Off to dust the hot choccie cauldron.

I know what you mean.. i see lots of post i want to read, get through one and the others have disappeared! very confusing....

I agree, it is not user friendly anymore, I find it really irritating that the posts keep on disappearing , just as you read one you go back to find everything has changed order and you can't see the posts that you previously were interested in! So much for progress!

Anyone noticed that although the threads get fewer views as Mrs M said, there seem to be a lot more people on NL and CR in particular? Do you think the figures are accurate? I'm getting used to it but I can't say I like it much

I've had a look through the FAQ and I can't see a way to change this... Some forums you can. Maybe have a word with Admin to see if we can add it as an option? As in "list threads in order of creation"?

Go to the bottom, there is a scroll bar that says "last post time", change it to something like thread start time xxxx

Yup, and if you do that it then changes back every time you post or change board. I tried doing it and lost the will.

I might just be tired or feeling grotty or something, but I feel that I won't be on here so much in the future. Pastures new m'thinks. It won't make any difference to the powers that be :).

I dont post too much but have regularly logged in for a daily dose of nosiness to see what other horsey folk are up to and to get advice.

I agree with Mrs Morzart its just not the same and find myself cutting back on hanging around.

Much prefer the old set up. Not a fan of changes or perhaps that's just my age :-$

I don't mind change, on the whole :) And there are things that I like, and some things that I've got used to, but this post layout thing is spoiling it for me. Will have to vote with my feet, but I'm not that bothered so will probably just fade away :).

Hate the new layout and I dont think i've been replying to threads as much as I used to because of it. Keep seeing the same threads on the first page as they keep popping back up and its annoying having to search through pages to read threads i havent seen before!

Yup. Annoying but it does get round the mad turnover of posts. Things do disappear a bit quick...

me neither i have been coming on here less as well and posting less, its to hard to find older posts etc, also as some people have there old usernames i can't work out who is who!!!!

I think the shorter pages makes it much easier for people's posts to vanish off the first page without any views or replies and get lost.

Agree - I feel sorry for people who have posted because they need advice, and if no-one answers quickly enough, over the page it goes and it's lost then.

Occasionally I click on page 2, but often as not I can't be bothered. I read one or two posts, rarely getting further than the first page, lose interest because it takes too long, then log off.

Thought I was the only grumpy old woman who didn't like the new layout - I am in good company! It's rather strange because as a magazine, they must know that people prefer to read short lines in a column rather than long lines stretching across the page so why have a forum that makes it difficult to follow??

On the good side, I think my addiction to HHO is nearly cured - is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I hate that when i see a few posts i like the look of i think 'oh i will come back to that one after this one' but by the time i do it could be anywhere! lol

And i do feel sorry for those who ask a question which isn't immediately eye catching and within half an hour can be 3 pages back. I do go on to the 2nd page and make sure i comment on anything interesting so it gets another chance on page 1.

Don't go Mrs M, loads of people will miss u so much including me. You are often a voice of wisdom, sanity and hot choccy in this mad house :D

ADMIN: give us the choice to see the forums how we want please? It's the only thing i really miss from the old forum (could choose to have it set up like this if wanted, or could have it the usual way).

Thank goodness it's not just me! I thought I must be a right old fogie(sp!) I just can't get the hang of it, so I am not coming on here nearly so much, it's a bit sad  but my house is cleaner and my horse is fitter :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one either! Although I have managed to do so many more other things and I've been getting to bed earlier so there are some benefits...but I do miss my HHO time too - I get so lost I just give up!

Please help us Admin.

I dont like it either tbh. I preferred to have the threads in order of posting. Then each day yoiu could have a look and see if anything was new. If you wanted to save a thread you could.

I tend to pop in now and get frustrated quickly so go off again.

I think it's probably the cold addling my brain, but it isn't fun. Maybe a break is needed and then come back later, for me that is! I'm not suggesting everyone takes a break lol.

Ah well. Chould get some sleep. See, I get more sleep as well now :D.

I do think it would be a shame if the -a-hem- older members give up posting because they do not like the new format. I don't like it either but it concerns me that the younger less knowledgeable/experienced members will be the only ones left here so when someone needs help, rather than just the opportunity to vent, there will be no-one available who can offer sensible reliable advice.
I'm sure it can't be beyond the capabilities of the techies to make it possible to have the 'time of thread start' option as a default setting, especially as apparently this IS possible on some vBulletin forums.

I find myself lurking alot these days, purley because i cannot be assed to trawl through pages :( ,i loved it when i could choose 90 threads a page, scroll down and what you wanted was there and stayed were it was(the not trawling through pages is lazy on my part i guess)!I dont mind it in general but that has to my major peeve!Wonder if admin would sort it?Hmmm however have a feeling it is to accomodate more useres and it dosnt slow the server down to much!?

P and H - I so hope that Admin can get it changed :). At this rate it won't be so busy so the servers will think they're on holiday :p :). You two are ones that I have missed seeing and part of the reason I think that my time here may well be done :).

I agree. I use it far less these days. Actually I hate it.
