Dear All,

I am moving to the North East of England, near Middlesbrough and as I'm not from this part of the country I am trying to find out some horsey info and need your help and comments please ...

- Which Riding Club is the most active in this area?
- Where are the best Affiliated and Unaffiliated Dressage and SJ Comps held over the winter?
- Who would you recommend in this area for all round training (with Eventing in mind ... I would prefer separate Dressage and SJ trainers)
- A good farrier
- An equine specific Vet

Your comments as always would be most appreciated!!

Thanks

I'm not in a RC so no help there I'm afraid.
I do some BSJA and BD. Closest to Middlesborough the biggest venue for BSJA would be Stainsby Grange where Pippa and Millie Allen hail from. The best venues nearby are probably Richmond Equestrian Centre, or a bit further south is Northallerton. Bit further north nearer to me is Holmside Hall. All of these run BSJA and BD. There is also BD at Union Hall in Durham.
BD - I trian with Tracey Woodhead who travels up this way to teach regularly and I have the odd lesson with Claire Dryden both of whom are very good.
BSJA - I train with BSJA accredited coach Philippa McKeever who I can't recommend highly enough.
My farrier is also excellent but probably too far north for you.
In the Middlesborough area you would probably be looking at Graham Russ at Oaklands Veterinary Centre.
Hope thats some help.
Can also recommend www.neriders.co.uk website for help with NE horsie things.
