This is possibly a silly question but can adults compete on ponies in Northern Ireland?

A very experienced friend-of-a-friend commented on me possibly applying to adopt a 14.1h pony, that I couldn't then compete on her. I've looked over the BE/BD rules and there is nothing in there that says I can't as long as she was registered as a horse but tbh having never actually competed in anything before I'm still not that confident in my googling.

I have no real ambitions of competing registered so it wouldn't matter really but just out of interest.

I can’t see anything in the Dressage Ireland rule book that says you can’t, maybe someone more up to speed will come along shortly to properly comment! If you have no interest in competing affiliated then I wouldn’t worry, you’ll have no issues at unaff dressage ☺️

Ty Sheep! It was just a statement made with such confidence "if shes only 14.1 she won't be able to compete on her" that I keep doubting what I'm reading!
