Where on earth does anyone around North Lincs manage to find rented grazing?

We had a big jump in our diy livery this year for our two and after phoning round all the farmers and searching for ages, just adjusted to it and bought a lovely welsh d yearling last month. Now I've just heard a rumour (may not be true) that the LO is planning on another big hike in the new year

I'm only looking for grazing with shelter, water and storage would be nice but we can manage without or possibly look into a standpipe. About 3 - 4 acres. A very good (and reliable) friend is also looking for the same thing so if we could find somewhere big enough we would be able to share.

I really don't want to be on a yard. I have ME and don't ride, although my daughter and OH do, but the time I spend with my horses has been the only thing that has kept me going the last few years. In the past with the two yards we were on people were very bitchy behind my back about my "brain fog" days and constantly criticizing me for not riding or for the fact that I have to sit and rest frequently in between doing stuff so that I can conserve my energy.

I've looked on the council's website and there is a note on there that there is no grazing land available and I am a bit confused as to who to contact to find out if the churches have any available?

I really wish that I was in a position to buy but have only one wage coming in due to my up and down health, sigh. It seems that as it is so flat around here every square inch is under the plough.

I really like where we are, we are the only liveries for now and get on well with the owners and their family but we just can't keep swallowing big jumps every year on top of increasing feed/hay/farrier bills etc. We give up everything to have our beautiful horses as they are our life but we still have to eat and pay our bills

Sorry for the long post, it has wandered off topic a bit, congratulations for getting this far

I would try an advert in a local PO. We have friends in another area that have several acres and don't do anything with it now and have said at some point they might rent it out for grazing to provide a little extra money now they're almost retired, I'm sure that sort of person might respond to an advert if they're still at the 'thinking about it' stage - there must be other people in similar situation in your area outside of the farmers, and they're more likely to go to the PO than the local feed shop.

We're in Scunthorpe (shhhhhhh don't tell anyone lol) and can't really go too far out, 10 miles max. I'll check out the Lincs Horses site, don't think I've ever been on that one.

Does anyone know what the going rate for diy in this area (preferably just renting the land not livery) for 3-4 acres with us doing all the maintenance as we do now? (well OH does anyway) Everything I've seen has been for shared diy grass livery going from between £15 - £25 per week with use of a school, one of those includes hay in winter and one of them offers hay and straw at a reduced rate.
