Does anyone know of any riding schools in this area that have good hacking on their doorstep? Never really found much and sometimes I get bored of going round and round the outdoor school, Perhaps there is somewhere I don't know about, not far away!

tunnel hill farm at blisworth have access to some great hacking, lots of off road avaliable and staff/instructors are friendly too

Depending on how desperate you are and which end of Northants you are... I can definitely recommedn Backnoe End in Thurleigh. Lively, well schooled quality horses that need to be ridden rather than sat on and plenty of hacking...

The best I have ever found was Plum Park Riding school in paulerspury! Fab riding school and wonderful hacking! But instead of just going round in a school in normal lesson they have lessons out in the fields and on cross country courses and you are (depending on the lesson) allowed to to cross country!! It the best riding school I have been to!

@ QueenE I did try Plum Park quite a while ago, and found it very different to where I have been going to. I think I would need to go there for some lessons to get used to their ways. Do you know if they do adult group lessons? Have you tried group lessons there? thank you

Yes they do adult lessons, I have lessons once or twice a week usually! I started with a intro, then went into a group lesson and you are put into a group that are the same level of riding as you. They do group as well as private! Its amazing! I went from not being able to trot to going out hunting within 9 months! Zoe Stevens does magic with some people!

I would also recommend Plum Park, I used to ride there for years before I eventually purchased one of their youngsters! I now take my own over there for lessons.
The only riding school I would thoroughly recommend.

Thanks for that i think i will have another go at Plum Park. Are the lessons 1/2 hour or 1 hour? If you look at their site they only mention 1/2 hours.
thank you everyone
