I know this is not stricly CR but you guys always give the best advice!! ;)

I need recommendations for vets to take an X-ray on my boy's hock as things are not looking great. :( We are based near Bedale and our regular vets are fine for vaccs etc but would like to get a more equine specialist vet out on this occasion as it could be a bit more serious.

Also I have heard of Stirk's in Ripon and Ed Bullman at Mile House Vets, so if you have any thoughts on them would also be good.

Thanks guys

xx

Peter Scholefield at Hirds and Partners... Shelf, Halifax.

I absolutely swear by him, and he is the only one I would have treating my horses for any 'lameness' issues now. I am in Lancs so it is a bit of a drive but well worth it :)

MY views are very out dated as I lived in Yorkshire years ago, but I had a youngster with a locking patella and Stirks operated on it and were brilliant! But it was a while ago!:p

I have used both Rainbow and Minster vets and have can highly recommend them both (Ian Anderson at Minster is spot on) At present I use Nigel Hazelhurst (equine specialist) at Ledston West Yorkshire who is also spot on but he is closer to us and maybe too far away from you

Also recommend Peter Scholefield at Hird & Partners.... We've used him a few times, and a lot of the Dressage community swear by him.
Our very good local horse vets use him for referral too.
