Me, OH (non horsey) 5 ponies and 4 dogs are soon to be moving to a village near Pickering. We have got a house with stables and a field at the back

So if anyone else is from that area I'm looking for a good farrier+vet. Also recommendations for places to get hay straw shavings feed etc. And by the time we move it will be too late for this season but what are the shows like round there? Are there any good riding clubs? I do mainly showing but a little bit of showjumping too.
Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

there is a lot of shows round that area i just look in robinsons tack shop in malton and get all of my schedules they are all mainly showing shows aswell as i show my welsh d

Edmond Collins at Station House is a fab vet 01653 618303

BATA is adjoined to Robinsons tack shop in Malton (which is naughty as I always pop in when getting feed and end up buying things I don't need!!

) which supplies feed, shavings etc.

Manor Farm Thornthorpe does good haylage.

Welcome to the neighbourhood xx

Yup Yup and Yup! I also recommend station house (very friendly) and BATA&Robinsons and Thornthorpe are both great too. Theres also a great little tackshop in Malton called Parnaby's its always handy to pop in just to check their prices againest robinsons.
It's a very horsey area so you'll soon find plenty to do!

Hope the move goes well xxx

Station vets, or Bishopton are really good.

Farriers... will have to think, as I don't think Steven Beane or John Stanley go that far over... Ivor Valentine might I'll try to find out (that really is his name!). Londonderry Forge are awesome (but expensive and don't come to you, but will fit you in at short notice)

WCF points out a Mr R G Morley - don't know anything about him.

avoid Richard Stevenson if he's pointed out to you.

OH is going to ask his colleague who loves over there who she uses.
