iv started to notice the past few weeks that my elderly tb has gone off his alpha a oil chop he seems to be spitting a lot of it out which is a indication he dosent like it.so iv decided to swap him onto the grass pellets..he has trouble keeping weight on..he's on baileys no4 topline cubes aswell..iv decided to cut the chop out and replace with grass nuts.how much grass nuts should I be feeding alongside the topline cubes???..he is out at grass and on good grazing...

If he's quidding (sp) then if he were mine the first thing I'd do is get the dentist out to check his teeth and see if there is a reason he is spilling food.
Grass nuts are just grass (obviously) so you can feed as much as you'd like if he needs to keep weight on.
My companion pony with no teeth will be having 100% of his forage intake as grass nuts in winter as he can't eat hay so 2% of his 400kgs will be 8kgs of dry pellets a day.

are grass nuts good for weight gain?? when I say condition I need something to keep him looking in shape..he does really well on the baileys top-line cubes...

Grass nuts are lke keeping them on spring grass all year round, so yes I think ideal for keeping condition in a slow steady way, that's natural for them, not zoom you get from cereals but then thats not what I'm looking for
