northern HHOers- Hutton?

Golly, I'd not thought about it not going ahead!!!!
Really looking forward to it, after getting young horse's first novice under his belt last weekend, we were planning one last run before the end of the season.
Tell me it's not too bad in cumbria??!!

I am West of Hutton and it is varying between bright sunshine and pouring with rain atm. The Penrith 5 day forecast from the met office doesn't look too bad though so fingers crossed :).

Im just east ofcarlisle although go to school at penrith so when i go back to school on thursday will update you all!

atm its quite windy with showers,

overnight we had hell of a lot of rain, although still 4 days to go!

would be a shame for it to be cancelled again!

yes if you could keep up dated that would be great! we've got a lot of rain coming down here atm...and the forcast for the week is bad too i believe. i really don't want to drive quite a long way to run in a bog either

its been very windy and rainy tonight in carlisle and i guess the same at hutton , i think tommorow is supposed to be the same,

the forecast is rain everyday for penrith and also heavy rain on saturday

not looking good!

Weather has been horrendous today and not supposed to get much better this week! One good thing is very high winds so should help dry up ground but not much warmth and a lot of rain. Haven't heard anything about it being cancelled yet (will have tradestand there, as well as competing on Saturday) but have a worrying feeling that, as with Hutton 1, they will cancel after Saturday as it is supposed to be very wet that day.

I'm north of Carlisle and the weather here has been horrible all day, all last night and so far all this evening.
I'm having a trade stand at Hutton, if it is cancelled I hope they do it in decent time so we get a reasonable refund.

Hope so (if they do cancel), but not too hopeful! Also don't want any cancellation as want my run on Saturday as well as a good weekend on the stand!

Think they will probably try to run on Saturday, and cancel overnight as they did earlier this year, so then we don't get anything like a decent refund  See you there possibly:D

Am f'judging and not heard anything re cancellation.

Re. your comment on the OT/PF thread (can't remember which one) I'll be the out of balance one bouncing in the saddle and using my whip judiciously to get a horse round the BE90 which has forgotten that it's supposed to be an eventer :p

I was  at the refund I recieved.

See you there :)

It really depends what happens from now on in. Another couple of days rain like we have had and there will be little chance especially of Sunday. 2008 and 2009 both cancelled. However no 2 forecasts are the same.

On a similar vain - what is the ground like in Cheshire at the moment? Am debating between Aske & kelsall as final run. Aske preferred as much nearer but if this weather keeps up I can see it being a bog too and think Kelsall may offer the better going?

i haven't actually been cheshire way since i was at camp...but kelsall is normally fine even when very wet- they run the farm ride all year round and its fine even in the middle of winter :)

The weather has been a bit better today has it not?

Luckily i am not that fussed either way this time if it runs...seeing as the CIC* got cancelled as well...

Be a bit annoyed if we dont get a Novice run but thats life...wont be entering either dates next year if it doesnt run - seems like a total waste of time!

Sadly not!!! Just been out for a gallop in the woods and have never been so drenched in my life  If it does run though we are well practiced for galloping in a bog in a monsoon  Friend down there said they had a whole heap of rain overnight. The only saving grace though is there is a very strong wind that may dry things up.
Off to clean my tack (again!)

Ur better than me...not sure when the last time i cleaned my tack was! Maybe this weekend if i dont get a run...

Pretty disappointing really, Hutton seems like such a nice course!

Meant to be taking the boy to the gallops tonight, reckon that might be cancelled 2! I hate Scottish weather!

x

Do you have any more planned this year diggerbez? Just decided to enter Kelsall in the hope of some decent ground to end our season.

I've just entered Kelsall and then Norton Disney at the end of October. Was going to do Bishop Burton but decided to give it a miss... have done quite a bit this season and my trainer has said I have a hard winter of BS coming up :eek:
