I work at a vets and we had a client bring one in as a puppy.It was gorgeous and still is. This dog took a lot of work when she was younger though as they can be very highly strung.
They started her at puppy socialisation classes and the took her to obedience classes when she was older and she has turned out a fantastic dog.
If you do end up getting one, ignore any advice that tells you to feed them raw meat please just put him/her onto a large breed puppy diet. Alot of websites and breeders etc think that they should be fed on raw meat and bones,due to their wolf ancestors but this is not true and you will probably end up with a poorly doggie.
If you do get one, post some piccies on here cos they are truly stunning dogs.x

second that VW,Was at work last night and We had a doggi rushed in to the hospital.........owner had fed her boxer some bones
...........unfortunatley they did not even reach the poor dogs stomach, cos he choaked when the bone became lodged in the throat
......he was dead on arrival
and the owner was devastated
the dog wa son 13 months old

I can't stand it when I see people give cooked bones, any cooked bones can kill and people think its just cooked chicken bones. My girls are living on chicken carcasses and marrowbones at the mo, they can be fed biscuit food but it has to be gluten free, they also love fruit and veg, if you take them blackberry picking they'll eat them off of the bush quicker than you can pick them
don't feed any dogs grapes or raisins though because they are poisenous to all dogs.

Hiya, this is mine, hes a british inuit, 3 months now and a little nightmare! Cant cage train him, but just bought a Citronella Collar for the barking and howling which has been constant in the last few nights, but he is lovely! This is Dante. Just took him to the vets to be weighed for his worming, 15kg already!

He sounds a terror!!! I don't hear a peep out of mine at night even if the JRT's or GSD's start barking their heads off! I hope the collar works.

Oh he throws the rule book out about messing in his cage, he does it everytime I leave him, whether its for 5 mins when I go to the shop or 5 hrs when I work! Vet suggested we put the cage in the front room with us in the evening and get him to see it as his bed, at the moment he only goes in it when we go out. Also just found out that only one of his testicles has decended and have to keep an eye on the other as apparently if it doesnt decend it can cause problems such as cancer later in life... never knew that.
