Northumberland beach rides...

Druridge bay is good but watch out for the quick sand. Can’t be more helpful than that as only know North Northumberland really. Can give loads of suggestions on there!

Druridge bays car park is good the ones near the visitor centre is where I park .
Another smaller beach is Warkworth .
You turn towards the east immediately north of the bridge at Warkworth follow the road towards the sea there’s a car park just to left of the enterance to the caravan park if you turn to left as you go into the car park there’s a quieter grassed part and you can usually turn round with no reversing .
You can ride down th beach to mouth of the Coquet then back through the dunes you then head to the north end and follow a bridle way that gets you to the beach that goes up to the mouth of the Aln and ride back through the dunes .
The bridle way that gets you off Warkworth beach is narrow but it’s passable I use it often .
I think you would need to look at the bridleways on a map before you go .
Further north there’s Budle bay that’s beautiful I never up there as I have Alnmouth Warkworth and Druridge on my door step .
Pm me if you need any more help .
If you you do the Alnmouth Warkworth one let me know and you can have a refreshment break at my caravan you ride right past it .

Ah so that’s how you get down to that beach! I did wonder. I was considering parking at the end of the bridleway near the railway bridge and hacking down the bumpy track. Or taking Rosie home and hacking from Shilbottle! There might be an easier way. Thanks Goldenstar, going to try that before I go down south with work

No that’s the best place much better than crossing the road .
You will see it if you look at a map .

I just looked. And I’ve walked those bridleway a lot as the beach up to the estuary is my closest beach. I always wondered how the horses were getting down there as didn’t realise that little path of Warkworth beach was a bridleway 😊 thanks

Ah great, thanks both. GS I didn't know you had a caravan there. I actually work in Amble so know the area a bit but I live an hour west. At this stage I'm just going to be long reining on the beach but once the Dales is backed it'll be beach rides as often as I can hopefully....

Yes we have a caravan on the Killicrankie site at North Field Farm it’s the one right on the edge of the bridleway with the big bench built into the front of it .
