Anyone recommend any beach rides on the Northumberland coast? I know that you can do Holy Island, but there must be other ones too.

At this precise moment in time (I'm sitting in a very hot office) galloping through the sea sounds like the best thing in the world!

We used to ride at Druridge Bay a lot - haven't been there since Christmas but assume you still can.

Need to watch out for tides (at high tide there is hardly any beach) and there is sometimes quicksand that you need to look out for, but it is a lovely long stretch.

Best time is crack of dawn on a crisp winter morning, before all the families and dog-walkers appear.

We did have a bit of an 'incident' with someone surfing down a sand dune once too.
