Yesterday was a very mixed day starting off with stress!!
I arrived at the farm in the morning mucked out Spider got Dexter ready and my tack etc, mum then arrived with my brother who I had to then take to school whilst she got the lorry out and plaited. As we drove off we saw mum calling us back, I reversed up and she said someone had stolen the diesel again! Arrrrggghhh very p**sed off obviously! Not so much for the money as there was only £5 ish in there but for the complete inconvenience and the fact that we were running short of time anyway. So I took my brother to school whilst mum plaited and went and got diesel in a can, we poured that in through our special funnel we made! And though we were off again, but no we couldnt get the cap on where they had broken it, it wouldnt go back on, so we had to put some duck tape on it and again were off again! Loaded Dexter and got going with 30mins till my test! NH is at least 40mins from us, then pull onto the A130 and it was gridlock, where we had left later we had caught all the traffic.
Managed to then have an ok journey for the rest! And arrived as my test was due to start but luckily mum went over and explained and the judge kindly said I could go in the break, so I did my Nov 33 first then the Nov 30 so all ok in the end!!
Start warming Dexter up and he doesnt feel great he was chomping on the bit not still in his head, leaning and doing rein back every time I stopped! He needs his teeth doing which I know he is getting them done next week but when I schooled Monday they were not this bad, poor thing. So tried to just do what I could in my test, but cue a cr*ppy score and test for 61% in the Nov 33 but still managed 5th which wasnt too bad considering the test!
Onto Nov 30 and I warmed him up being very very soft with my hands and trying to chill him, he did a much nicer test but muffed up the halts, which sadly he does very well, I was too scared to halt for long in case he went back!! Went to check scores and as it was a Q the judge was marking very low lots of 50% marks, I scored almost 63% and was lying in 2nd in the restricted section, there was still 10 or so to go in my section so after the day I had, had I decided to go home! I called NH last night too see of I was placed and I had managed to hold on to 2nd place YEY! Not too bad considering the circumstances!
So now here comes the questions, being new to BD! Would I have scored any points for those scores? And will I have received any prize money? In the schedule it said £12 to 2nd place in that class but I was in the restricted so do I still get that?
Next BD is Sat 9th Feb at NH again, which is the Sat after my Horse mag masterclass with Wayne Channon!! Which im extremely looking forward too and hopefully can pick up some good tips for the BD comp!!
I do have a vid of the Nov 30 which I will try and get onto here and post at some point, also found a vid of Fitz the nutty chestnut I had jumping so will post that too!
