Norwegian Fjord

There's one at our yard. He's quite strong, but very sweet! Bombproof, too, and the owner can lunge him in a halter. They're really a lot like british cobs, but with cool hair

I had a Fjord x TB and he was such a character. He could be a git to ride, but also on other days safe as houses. I only ever fell off him when he used to jump the jump wings rather than the fence itself. He has now gone to a home where a 10yo novice boy rode him and an exp mum. He apparently takes the mick out of the mum but really looks after the boy. He kind of knows when you have gained his confidence and trust as he then gets cheeky. He did not have a bad bone in his body and would never bite or kick. He could however be stubborn

Had two at the rda centre I worked at they were brilliant. One was very strong and often worked pulling the trap and the other was great to teach canter, you just said canter and he obliged but nice and slowly

My friend has one - he is GEORGOUS. Bit like our Cob's over here temperament wise.

He can turn a hoof to anything and and fine with novices too.

He can be a bit strong at times - you only have to look at their necks to see that, and he will always let you know if your getting a bit big for your boots!

We have one at our rda yard too - he is brill to handle and you can canter him in hand! He takes care of all the diabled riders but sure as hell knows when an able bod gets on and he is very cheeky and very very strong !! But he's a lovely lad and full of character

"I have always lunged my horses in a halter Is that special?"

I was just saying that although he's strong, he doesn't try and get away to the tasty grass on the other side of the rope xD

there were also two at the rda centre i used to help out at. One was very strong and the other was quite hard work but once going he was a fab jumper. They were both used for disabled as they never complained, were good at carring the wait and were very safe.

Only known one, the best novice horse ever, calm and completely unflappable but a complete git if you wanted him to go out of his comfort zone and jump anything of a decent height or do anything more demanding than canter to the rear of the ride.
