My cob mare has a very pink muzzle and lips,I suncream and aloe vera her every day but wondered if the nose net would offer better protection.the other thing is i'm abit worried about leaving her headcollar on in the field.Any advice would be fabulous.

ETS i have a Equilibrium nosenet!.

I use one all the time in the field, its made of uv material its one that was specially made for my girl as it wraps around the sides a bit too and attatches with velcro to my fieldsafe headcollar, ive never had a problem with it, here is the one i use. Hope this helps

Hiya I haven equilibrium field relief muzzle protector field relief muzzle protector which we use on our pink muzzled cob on very sunny days. Cheapest online I have seen doing a quick search is at Robinsons for £8.50. Or you could try ebay which is where I bought mine from. On days which are not as sunny we just apply a high factor suncream for babies on his nose. When he was muzzled ( due to pigging out on grass) we didn't apply anything as the greenguard muzzle covered most of his muzzle area anyway. Now he is not being muzzled again ( until we open up the full field area) he is having the cream applied and will be wearing his sun protection as we didn't use it that much last year and as a result he did have a pink nose on a few occasions.
I use mine with a fieldsafe headcollar as they are designed to come apart under pressure. Ours has velcro fastenings but you can get some that have little rubber bands that break on pressure ( and need to be replaced after). Otherwise you could use a leather headcollar as they are much safer than nylon.
Sorry it you know all this already.
I don't know about the sun protection offered by their nose nets as the mesh may not be closely woven enough. As far as I know they are just designed to make breathing more easier and to try and stop flying pollen, flies, and any other debris from irritating the nasal passages.
It may be worth investing in one like I have as I do rate them. Like I said I got mine a few years ago secondhand before I even bought the horses but they are not that expensive to buy to be honest.
Good luck and btw I love your cob, she has very similar markings to our Mcfly as he is mainly white too. x
Aerborn do a similar product as well which I found for sale at Rideaway and is cheaper at £5.71

Yes thats the nosenet i have got but have never used one before..Just abit worried about leaving it on with her headcollar. So it might be best then to still apply suncream to her little pink bits aswell.thank you for your lovely comments. She is a little angel. And very much in love with my big lad.
