Nosebands?

What noseband do you use on your horses? Been reading alot of pros and cons for all the different nosebands about at the moment and just wondered what everyone was using and why?

I use a grackle mostly to stop P crossing his jaw when he is jumping and lately Ive been riding him in a pelham and plain cavesson for showing because that's what I need in the ring.

I just use a cavesson because he looks a bit odd without one. He doesn't need a noseband though.

Big fat crank caverson but not done up overtight.

I use a flash because I ride in a plain snaffle and he can get quite strong, esp if he gets his mouth open....

Cavesson with his normal bit, and Flash noseband with his gag which I use when hacking, and he gets strong out hacking

Diva has drop as she likes to cross her jaw sometimes.
Blitz has a padded crank but not overly tight
Hils has cavesson and flash with his snaffle and a plain cavesson on his double. Both purely for cosmetic reasons he is far too polite to cross his jaw or open his gob

A cavesson, fitted very loosely.

It's purely for looks, if it's done up tight enough to put any pressure on his head he'll set his jaw, lean on the bit & run off. The only reason I use one at all is I occassionally do some dressage & if I don't normally use one he objects when I do.
