Nosebands

Can anyone advise what type of noseband they think is best for a sensitive mare!

I don't need it to do anything apart from break up her face, I am currently riding her without one as she is a lot happier but she looks funny without one! vain I know!!!

The last one I had (a loose fitting cavesson) made her stop and rub her face!

Too losse can annoy them , so try a cavesson at rough 2 finger tightness, so it doesnt move around and annoy her!

That was about how it fitted anyway! I did feel on the inside of the noseband and it was a bit rough so tried cleaning it to soften it up but that made no difference so just gave up!

maybe try a sheepskin noseband cover on a plain cavesson so its nice and soft on her skin?

Could be worth a try - I did think about getting a comfort noseband has anyone had any experience with one of these?

yep, try a padded crank cavesson, the pressure is dispersed better than a normal cavesson and the padding will obviously help towards any rubbing / discomfort

I have one of these at home which formed part of a flash so I will try it without the flash part - thanks guys
