Nosebleeds and a bit under the weather???

(I know - should prob be in the vet section!)
Maggie has had a few nosebleeds over the past couple of weeks, in the stable and field. She's had them before but no so regular.
She's stabled on rubber matting and dust free bedding and fed haylage.
Also, she seem a little under the weather and dare I say it - a bit depressed? She had choke a couple of weeks ago but I'm not sure its related to this.
She seems happy enough when first turned out but when I go to bring her in she is generally just stood around looking sorry for herself. She seems happy enough to come in though.
It's not really serious to call a vet but I wondered if anyone had an similar experiences or maybe idea's?

I think I'd probably have the vet up to look at her if she were mine. One nose bleed every now and again is ok, but a few over the past couple of weeks, together with a low mood would have me concerned.

Dont wait-ring the vets for advice and definately get a vet to check and possibly endoscope as it could be a gutteral pouch infection which can be serious.Starts with minor nosebleeds and they sometimes then have a major uncontrollable one. Dont want to scare you as it is probably nothing but best make sure.Google 'Gutteral pouch infection'.

I would get the vet out ASAP. She sounds like she needs endoscoping, to see whats going on, especially if she is down in herself. The vet may want to check her blood, she may have picked up some sort of virus?
Ellie went through this similarly a couple of years back; she had a period of small, sudden nosebleeds, and we got the vet out straight away. Turns out it was her environment that was making her feel low - the stables were in an old dairy, very poor ventilation, poor turnout etc. We made a few changes, and she picked up very quickly! She still has the odd bleed now and again, but its very infrequent. I would get the vet to your girlie - I'm sure its probably nothing, but you need to know!

Righto- probably a good idea to get her checked. There has been no change in her environment so I can't imagine that's making her feel low. She has a lovely view from her stables and they are well ventilated plus she has plenty of daily turnout. I'm now starting to wonder if her attack of choke could be related and possibly the cause of an underlying infection. I feel really bad now that I wasn't taking it seriously enough.

my mare started having minor nose bleed a couple of months ago only once a week over a couple of weeks, i got the vet out and he took a blood test for clotting and general wellness, which all came back fine but she had another small one when I was on holiday, so shes actually goin in tomorrow to be scoped to see if there is anything there, im hoping its nothing, fingers crossed!

but I would get her checked just to be on the safe side, keep us up dated,x

Heidi started having nosebleeds and the vet scoped her suspecting a gutteral pouch infection and found nothing, she was then xrayed and a the vet found a tumour in her sinus cavity, luckily benign....
