My cob headshakes alot, i am trying to rule out light, pollen or the midges irritating his nose. I have tried different nosenets but he will not tolerate these as if its irritating him even more
Has anyone else had a problem with the horse not accepting his net?

What noseband do you use? Mine prefers his nets secured by a flash strap or grackle noseband,he hates them flapping about & it clearly really irritatates him but once they're still under a noseband he's fine.

I have got a normal cavasson but it has the flash attachment. I never thought about strapping it down, that does sound like a good idea. He literally tries dragging his nose along the ground with it. Thanks for the tip

I didn't have headshaking just irritation from the quantities of tree and flower pollen along a track we used to have to ride along to leave the yard when it was in full Spring bloom, mass of hawthorn and cow parsley - I tried those nosenets you attach to the noseband and think they were quite good but he found them irritating in themselves just how they tickled his hairs around his nose so kind of defeated the object. But I hadn't tried it with a flash so as Whizzer says that might solve the problem.

If ours have to wear a nose net they have a flash fitted over the top loosely to keep it down. If the wind blows they can flip up.

Eta- how low down on his lip does it sit?? It may be tickling his top lip and annoying him, in which case you can trim and re-hem the net.
