I am trying to find a tried and tested product that does NOT contain glucosamine for severe arthrititis. Also general wear and tear in joints. I have always used Cortaflex happily until recently I have found that glucosamine is not recommended for laminitics :( and those with IR/cushings.:( My cob had laminitis badly last year as well as having arthritis in his hocks, and my other horse has cushings so I don't want to cause more problems. I wondered about Litovet (rosehips), but wonder if its man enough? Any advise greatly received thanks.:)

You may be alright with Cortaflex as it contains next to no glucosamine (chondroitin).

Equine Cortaflex Ingredients
Mucopolysaccharides, Soy Protein Hydrolysate, Hyaluronic Acid, Glycine, L-Glutamine, Glucuronic Acid, Glutamic Acid, L-Proline, Aspartic Acid and Sulphur in a cellulose capsule.

Just had a look at the cortaflex ingredients, it says it contains:-

smaller key active isolates of Chondroitin and Glucosamine

Listed in the ingredients is glutamine, which according to wiki stimulates the pituitary gland, so I'm thinking this is a no...

I'm looking for a glucosamine free supplement too, I've just started one from the metabolic horse site, but had wondered about either hilton herbs on trinity consultants - but they don't seem to list their ingredients, which puts me off...

Try apple cider vinegar.. my physio recommended it to me she thinks its better then cortaflex. Its also cheaper!

It helps to improve joints, bones and circulation
