Sadly three horses died at Taunton Races today.
There is always going to be accidents, but somehow 3 in quick succession seems bad. The stud vet (where I work) was on duty there today, and even he seems down about it.
RIP horses.

That's tragic, can't have been nice for anyone.

RIP Horses :( My thought are with the owners, trainers and stable staff involved with them.

*Hopes this doesn't turn into a racing bashing thread*

Awful :(

First time I went to the races as a 10yo, 3 horses were pts on the course, and one collapsed and died right in front of me, was not a good day :(

RIP horses, but I am sure they were well loved, and will be missed, just as any of ours would.

It is always really awful when this happens and it really puts a downer on the day, but how sad for the owners trainers and jockeys and truly sad for the lovely horses bless them all.

Moving Wings fell at the last hurdle which was a heavy fall. Marigolds Way went in the home straight from a fall, and also 2 others were very lucky to walk away from heavy falls. Sad for all.

That's a real shame and my thoughts are with the owners, trainers, lads and lasses as, despite what some might have you believe, the loss of a racehorse is just as sad to the people who know it as that of a leisure horse :(

Marigold will be very much missed on The yard. A sweet horse that always tried her best. Tears fell last night. She'll be missed by us and her sister Miss Midnight. RIP

Just because they are racehorses doesn't mean nobody loves them, and a lot has been done over the years to rehome them when they come out of racing.Death comes at anytime, I lost a cob 2 years ago with a suspected heart attack and he was only 11
