Not a good way to advertise rescue dogs

Has anyone seen the new Christmas advert for rescue dogs?? Heart wrenching, tear bringing, sentimental - and giving a good message in "adopt don't shop". But the final scene is the new dog arriving on xmas morning complete with decorations, and the young girl is cuddling him/her......an XL bully ( or some sort of bully)! Seriously a new dog at Christmas, whole family don't go and choose, and an XL type as a family pet???

Tbf although I've not seen the advert are you sure it's not a staffy? Only they are the most common dog that are overlooked in dogs homes. Probably because of their association with looking like Pitbulls/ XL'S

Someone sent it to me on FB, I just checked where it came from, its yearsuk on instagram. So maybe it isnt for dogs trust, just rescues in general.....its headed "the most devastateing christmas ever 2024"

Absolutely isn't. A lot of rescues will pause adoptions over christmas for this exact reason.

"A dog is for life, not just for Christmas, and actually not for over Christmas either, it's too disruptive and doesn't set the dog up for success" is not a snappy slogan tho.

Be really helpful if you could edit or ask admin to edit the title as it's deeply unfair to the Dogs Trust as a charity to name them on the basis that someone sent you a completely unrelated video from Instagram via Facebook messenger. A quick Google could tell us there is no Dogs Trust 2024 Christmas ad of this kind.
