First the vile charges against Mason Greenwood (Man Utd), then more women coming out with rape charges against the already imprisoned Mendy (Man City) - making that approx 10 women in total.. and now Zouma (West Ham) is under fire for a disgusting video of him kicking and abusing his cat... I haven't watched the video as I can't bear things like that but the 400+ comments on it all say the same thing.

What is wrong with these men?! Is it chance, or is there some sort of correlation? Does having so much money and fame so young damage there perceptions of how to behave? (I don't think so, but this has been something I have seen banded about).

Sorry, also couldn’t bring myself to watch, suffice it to say, I’m absolutely horrified and for me, it says much about the guys character? the other guy, shocking also, but at least people have some chance of defence against their perpetrators, animals often don’t?

Another entitled little s**t who thinks that money and fame will enable him to get away with mindless cruelty to a defenceless creature.
I wonder what his partner and child think of him?
In my previous professional life, cruelty to animals was an indicator of concern where the perpetrator also had contact with vulnerable people.
I hope the relevant professionals will note this man's abhorrent behaviour and record it for future reference.

The video is shocking.

Disgracefully, Zouma was in the starting XI last night against Watford. What kind of message does that send?

I am stunned at this, he should have been on an immediate suspension... look at the backlash the teacher who hit that pony got. Goes to show that only people who fit a certain criteria are hounded by the public and media - and young, successful and male clearly isn't it.

A lot of money lets you get away with a lot of stuff, especially if you are then making MORE money for other people, you're protected. I honestly think it's that simple. People in positions of fame and power have been free from consequences basically forever, it's only recently that it seems to be changing.

If you check the other thread about Zouma he is absolutely being hounded by both public and media. Well deserved of course, but he is certainly getting it.

Thanks, I hadn't seen the other thread until you mentioned it!

I hadn't realised quite how much traction the story has gained since I last saw it written about online yesterday morning.. Pleased to hear it!

the police are looking into it ( note not the RSPCA)
The RSPCA are involved, too, jointly with Essex Police. I posted this yesterday on the other thread.
Kurt Zouma: West Ham condemn defender as video emerges of him hitting pet cat
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60299426

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "We are aware of a video circulating on social media relating to an incident involving a cat which members of our communities may find distressing.

"We have recently been made aware that this incident may have taken place in Essex and we are liaising with the RSPCA and urgent enquiries are ongoing."

The RSPCA said: "This is a very upsetting video and we'd like to reassure the public that we are investigating.

"We cannot comment further at this time but we're grateful to everyone who has brought this to our attention."
