not chewing?

What kind of dog is it? Some dogs (like terriers) tend to bolt their food like this. A good way to slow it down is to get a special bowl with big protrusions coming up from the bottom like fingers that the dog has to really work at and take his time (I've never seen them but you might find on the 'net). I think some people have even gone the route of putting large stones in the bowl. Or maybe a treat ball as it makes the dog slow down a bit. Or perhaps feed him something bit softer if his teeth / gums are sore - maybe he's not chewing because his mouth is sore?

he is a greyhound. but what he does is take a few biscuits out of his bowl then eats them in the front room.
could it be the food that we feed him (even though he eats he treats and chews in the same way). we feed him sainburys meat once a day and sainsburys dry biscuits twice a day
