Not Eating His Tea...

I took Toby hunting on Sat and now he's not eating his feeds. I wasn't worried on saturday night/sun morn but last night he only ate half and this morning he's not touched his breakfast. What would you advise? Am I best leaving his feeds as normal or perhaps reducing the HI-Fi and Beet so he's got less and at least the top line is getting down?
 
Is he still a bit lit up? One of ours stops eating so much if she is over excited! Give it a couple of days and I'm sure he will be back to normal.
 
Has he had any turn out?
Or even being led around to find a bite of green.

Horses who are still 'hunting' a day later are a bit tricky and can drop weight very quickly
I used to have a warm bran mash with salt and treacle well wrapped in car for when he came home followed by small feed at 10pm.
Reduce the 'chop' for now
I think sometimes their mouths are very dry after all the excitement
 
Yeah, he's been out and has wound down completely now. He's eating his hay but not as much as normal. I left him a scoop of nuts with a small handful of chop for when he came in today.
 
Ours does this too - it is such a pain when you want them to actually eat more when they have hunted! We found that the more he is out in the field, the better he eats. We also noticed that he was very keen on Feedmark's Herbalicious treats and that these contain Fenugreek which is meant to be an appetite stimulant. I now soak five Herbalicious treats in a litre jug of water and pour over his cubes and mix it in and seems to be working a treat!

I would definitely reduce the HiFi as it is quite coarse and unappetising and rather like the equine equivalent of Ryvita or rice-cakes! Great for greedy porkers, not so great for fussy eaters.
