Not for the faint hearted!!

wow that was dramatic at the end. what a good lad!

just out of curiosity how much heat was in that leg before it was drained?

wish him a very speedy recovery too x

thanks for posting that, i've shown my OH and kids and they went white! lol

my TB had the same problem a few years ago, the vet had to lance it and it was packed full of congealed (sp?) puss, looked more like scrambled egg and gone off custard, my OH missed it being drained and was a bit narked i didn't film it but he has now got a rough idea from your video! :D

glad your boy is doing well though, hopefully the mud will clear up soon and he can go out and kick his legs up again.

Holy moly mother of projectile puss, lol.

Been a while since I have seen anything that bad, I bet he feels so much better.

Poor lad, must have felt awful for him.

Hope he can get out and have some fun soon :-)

I also have to admit to loving puss...lol. My OH is wonderful, he will let me sit and go to town on his arms and back, lol

Blimey, bet that niffed a bit. I bet he felt loads better after though.

How many of you weird pus-poppers saw the episode of Rolf's Animal Clinic with the bull? Now that's pus!

Hiya,

The leg was warm but not "hot" and it felt solid, only squidgy around the area the vet opened up. It didnt smell at al but it made a heck of a puddle, especially when he flushed it out after.

The good news is the vet is amazed at his progress, the bandage is off and he can be brought back into light work on a solid clean track, so may be road work from now to ease him back in.

I love how enthusiastic you all were about the video. I had 5 friends at the yard helping us keep him settled and calm as well as the sickos that just came to watch lol.

He is a special horse as he is only 5 and 17hh and he has done 3 affiliated dressage outings in the 5 months we have been together and never got below a third place.

I suppose thats how we horsey people are, luckily my mare lives opposite him and can keep him company when the fields are too wet for even her to go out and play. Will post a picure of his recovery as soon as I can xx

Very good to hear and certainly sounds like he is a special boy x

Wasn't he a good boy? :)

I must confess I love a bit of pus  especially the bit a the end

This! My friends and family think I am odd :)

OMG - and when the vet put his / her finger in - YUCK! Agree it must be so much better minus all that PUS! Never seen anything like it!

When vet stuck his finger in it did make me cringe a bit - not overly keen on things like that.

I'm another who is really bad for spot picking and my ex OH used to let me do that to his back. Worst thing for me is when I see one on someone else that just needs a little squeeze...can't go round squeezing strangers though! :D

Glad to hear he is feeling better :)

Bless him. Glad he is doing so well
Interesting about his leg only being warm not hot as such. But then u guess temperature is open to individual interpretation
Hope he is soon back to normal x

AMAZING! yup I'm gross love stuff like that. I can relate to wanting to squeeze spots on strangers lol.

Hope he makes a speedy recovery, bet it was a huge relief when it popped!

I draw the line at squeezing spots on strangers. For some reason that thought makes my skin crawl. I just go to town on Dan, lol.

I do however feel an overwhelming urge to correct things. Be it like the rack of wine bottles in the pub last night that Dan and I had to sneakily straighten up as we left or I see somebody has their t-shirt sleeve or collar folded up or crooked. I just can't focus on anything else when I see things like that.

Bats**t crazy me :-)

Lordy - that was fantastic!
I had an exploding cats ear last week when we were eating tea, which disrupted things a bit  - not actually in ear just the pointy bit and yes we had been to the vet and had AB jab!

Oh my word theres some horror stories right there for ya. Well Archie can now be ridden the bandage is off and he can be hacked so apart from the £500 + vet bill its all good :) xx
