When I think...one day ill give up on the rescue mutts...il go buy me one of those GSD's and have a dog that looks like a dog.
That il have a handsome/pretty dog that has come from a breeder who knows the breed,has bred for soundness and temperament has had hipscores/eye tests.....................

I cant for toffee think how anyone unless completely and utterly retarded would go buying a "panda GSD" that looks nuffink like a GSD (never mind a panda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:
And from a retard breeder who is clearly delusional! headdesk? totally!!!
 
I think you are all being very unfair.

This breeder has breed this lovely litter of deformed puppies so that people can have the pleasure of owning a cross bred with panda markings and all at an affordable price.

Why on earth would anyone want to go to a reputable breeder and pay around half that price for a GSD which did not have panda markings and huge paws?

You are absolutely right. It makes me sick, all these so called GSD breeders working and showing and health testing their dogs, just to 'improve the breed'. WTF. If we wanted the breed improving we'd get Chuck Norris to breed GSD's. They would be amazing in a day or so. We don't want normal GSD's. We want Safari GSD's. For sure Panda types are the most common right now, but I myself have plans for Zebra German Shepherds and I think They will be massively popular in pet homes. Which is a shame because they are 1/4 shark. But I think they will adapt.

You may all PM me at once to be put on the waiting list for the first litter of Zebra Shepherds to be born in the UK. They will be KC reg but the stripes may fade with age (damn dye!).

They seem to hip score which is good, although maybe one or two of the scores are higher than I would choose to breed from. My main issue as a GSD breeder is people breeding from colours that are not recognised by the KC and as I said in my post above used to be either sold without papers or pts (and I do not agree with the latter but it happened quite a lot:(). This means that many of the unrecognised colours are from a fairly limited gene pool. I am amazed they are able to breed so many litters and have time to eat and sleep, 2 in July and 3 due in the next 3 weeks, I collapse in a heap and need several weeks to recover after just one litter a year. :D

ETS. Hmm just noticed that one bitch (Kaya) was born 30.9.09 so net yet two and has already had a litter. :(

While it is great that they hip score and I have seen worse - in terms of coat colour, coat type, weight/height/build/condition of these dogs and breeding practise/frequency/number of breeding females (verging on industrial, sorry :(), not my cup of tea at all. When I think German Shepherd Dog, this is not the picture that comes into my head.
 
Erm, not really, my young one is looking like he is a longhair. Where did you hear you shouldn't ask for one?
ETA: They pop up in most GSD litters no matter if both parents are shorthaired. You can now do a test to determine if a potential breeding animal possesses the LC gene or not.

For many years it was considered a fault and you couldn't show them in the breed ring, but I have heard of phantom trimming :p
The SV in Germany have this year started classes for them, as long as they have an undercoat, and the UK shows held under German rules have followed suit and while it is a nice spectacle, it drags the day out a bit having a whole new set of classes :o
Cynics/critics claim the rule change is a way for the SV to accrue more money in terms of registrations, entry fees, studs and puppy sales. Supporters say, longcoat enthusiasts and their dogs, who are equal to their shorthaired brothers and sisters in all but coat type, are now included in shows and it is to be welcomed.

Those without an undercoat are not waterproof which is obviously not ideal for a working breed. I am not a big fan of the very heavy coats at all, as you know mine is fluffy, frilly but I hope he doesn't end up like a bear.

Ironically every longhair I have met has been constructionally and temperamentally very correct! Although I suppose the coat can hide faults.

Someone on a dog forum was asking for breeder recommendations for a long haired GSD pup and was quite brutally told by some self proclaimed 'expert' that this was not something any decent breeder would deliberately breed for. :confused: Like I said, I know nowt about the breed except that next door's is not of the brightest (having landed up in our garden pond the other week-she only just fit!)

I think the thinking is, don't go out and deliberately seek someone who breeds *specifically* for a fault like longcoats or non-standard colours. That I agree with.
To me it is like deliberately breeding for floppy ears and gay tails and such.

Long coats crop up in almost ALL GSD litters. As I say, most highly-bred GSD litters, work or show will have at least one longcoat in them (my fella is a case in point). You will get one from a reputable breeder who adheres to the correct breed type, usually for a reduced price.

They are £1500 which I think is incredibly reasonable as GSDs from Safari lines are very, very rare in the UK.

Below is a picture of a typical Safari puppy (zebra breeding in this case).

I would be very happy if Evie produced a long coat bitch, and that would be the one I would keep , but I will not be deliberately breeding for one. My bitch line hasn't actually produced many long coats, but the odd one has popped up now and again.
As CC says I suspect the person speaking on the forum was talking about the breeders who specifically try and produce dogs that have faults such as long coats, blues, whites etc and I do agree with them that these breeders probably do not have the breeds best interests at heart.

If £2000 is the going rate for a fancy striped one, I am sure I can get hold of a pot of paint somewhere if Pix isn't able to supply all the prospective customers.:p

Please note that they are slightly roached however, even when standing square. We are working on producing hips that are floor level, and extremely weak hocks (not those normal loose puppy hocks that strengthen with work) and my breeding program reflects this.

Lexie- if the tails are too long for you, I can get the kitchen scissors out and fix that for you.

Cinammontoast- I do special breeding packages where you can have a brother and sister pair for only £2500. I call them my 'Grow-your-own Frankendog starter kits'. They are very popular with families and children. :)

MM- I am working on eye colour. I think it was the introduction of sharks blood that did it. Or maybe the rabid squirrel. Hard to tell. In the mean time I supply contact lenses for all Safari GSDs, so that you may avoid losing points in the show ring (Safari GSDs are incredibly popular with judges. I walked past a judge once and she said 'nice doggy, sit, sit, SIT.... ARRGHlllgggrrrhhhhg' as he hugged her. This is equivalent to winning the Universal OMGWTFBBQ Seiger). Judges never think to check for contact lenses, they are the judge equivalent of the Spanish inquisition- totally unexpected!

I also sell a range of dyes in many unique colours, should you find yourself with a sub-standard litter of pups whose colouring is considered normal for the KC. If you wish to avoid having to dye your puppies, both my zebra and my mutant shark are available for stud.

I would like to be put on the list for a zebra GSD please.

I plan to breed it with a polar bear, not only for temperament but also because it will have really huge, oversized paws!

I would then like to breed the puppies with each other and get something which no longer resembles a dog!

Do you think my 10th floor council flat will be big enough for this?
And do you think my staffie / pit bull cross will mind sharing the kitchen with the other dogs?
