Arrrgggggghhhhhh!

Highlights on BBC2 today, full XC coverage on Horse and Country TV at some stage... we've never had so much eventing coverage so I'm going to defend the BBC for once

I will be watching the highlights today, but I can't watch Horse and Country as I don't have sky. What can I say I'm still pretty miffed as I don't see why they had to swap channels but what do I know........

Agree that coverage much better now. They did the same with the olympic coverage - luckily I had stayed up all night with a friend to watch it.

Yeah I was more than slightly p*ssed off when that happened becuase I was doing work on my computer. Why they stopped it in the last hour to show footage from one big weekend for a v short period I don't know. f'ing annoying saying we're going to be catered for then short changed....

Yes, it was pretty appalling actually. I simply can't understand why they did that.

Also time for good old Mike Tucker to hang his cap up. It was so refreshing to listen to Tina Cooke and Ian Starke doing the commentary whilst Mike Tucker was having a break. Two people who really do know what they are talking about.

I find tina cook incredibly irritating. Probs because a good few years ago I saw her completly missuse her whip on a novice horse and never really forgot about it.... but thats another story.

Anyway, who I really enjoyed was Mark todd and Matt ryans commentary although I will admit ian stark was very funny!

The most annoying thing IMO was that the broadcast stopped at 3.30 pm and then a recording was broadcast at 6.0pm, for no apparant reason. There didn't seem to be anything following Badminton on Freeview, so I certainly didn't understand the scheduling.

What got me irked about the BBC was its incredibly short coverage of the SJ and dressage. Instead of wasting as much time interviewing Lord Beaufort and walking the course, they could have started the XC highlights straight away and spent more time on the SJ. Or they could have been showing the SJ in its entirety live via the red button. I'm fortunate enough to have Sky (even though I didn't think it when the blooming box went onto standby just as OT and FC had started their XC), but I felt really bad for those with Freeview. There was no good reason for them stopping the coverage and they should be ashamed of themselves.
