As I am not having a holiday this year a friend and I decided to take a few days off this week and have some nice days out with the dogs. Of course firstly the weather broke, but what are waterproofs for, and we had a lovely day on the beach today, the bad weather meant it was deserted so dogs could have a blast. On the way back, luckily about 10 mins from car, I had s light pain in top of my thigh, by the time I reached the car I could hardly walk, and drove home having to physically lift my left leg with my hand to use the clutch. It is still very painful, luckily kids are doing the animals, as I can hardly walk and stairs are a real struggle. Tomorrow we are supposed to be heading off to Tatton Park, and Delamere Forest on Thursday, I shall be so narked if I can't go. :( Have a few pics from today which I will post another time, gonna go down the RICE route now so away from laptop. Sorry, just felt like a moan. :p

Hate to tell you but the weather is not going to improve much our way this week. I am just around the corner from Delamere Forest. Hope you hip improves though. :)

If its no better in the morning I might do, its so weird I just don't know what I have done. I was just walking along, it was damp slightly deep sand, but I didn't twist or trip or anything, and its not as if I am not used to walking.

Yeh I knew about the weather, not really surprised actually my friend and I have a knack of jinxing the weather if we have anything planned. We even managed to induce a thunder storm within a few hours of arriving in Corfu one year. :D

I put voltarol gel on soon as I got home, just about to send the vet to the freezer to get some peas :D, arnica is a good idea, but don't think I can lift leg high enough to get in bath. Evie had a lovely day though, lots of seagulls to chase and is now spark out at my feet.

Has it swollen up or got red at all??

Being a bit a**l here as I have seen a couple at work recently.

Thinking along the lines of DVT....might be worth a trip to the walk in centre or minors unit.

Get well soon x x

Get to a sports injury physiotherapist/osteopath ASAP, sounds like a back problem is the root of this.I once seriously did my back in by going cubbing on foot, and was limping because a horse had trod on my foot. All I did was about three hours yomping over fields..but the limp threw everything "out".
Ended up firstly having an epidural ..did`nt work..then the suggested route. Two sessions involving two blokes and an almighty crunch and all was ok.Should have gone there first you see, know better next time!

Thanks for the replies. Its quite a bit easier today, just feels tight rather than bloody sore, no swelling, redness or anything else . You might have a point re it being back related EK, I do have neck/ shoulder problems and I am aware how this can throw up symptoms in weird places. I have a really good physio and had already decided to call her later if it gets worse again. In the meantime plan is to have a very frustrating quiet day today and hopefully resume normal service tomorrow.

We older girls do have to pace ourselves a bit, sounds like you over did it, glad its a bit easier today put your feet up and watch a bit of daytime tv.

Hope its better by tomorrow.

Well it`s all part of the spine MM, me too, crap neck ,crap sacroiliac, loads better after losing a pile of weight..all extremely annoying and frustrating..pace myself? Qui?? No , carry on and grow old disgracefully is my motto...still going to music festivals and stuff, me:D:D

Yep I'm growing old disgracefully too. Its a lot better today (vet did offer to scan it yesterday when she came to the horse :p) so I'm going to try again, but we have a more sedate route planned. And of course weather was lovely yesterday, peeing it down again today.

I did something similar after a 4 hour walk when we were on hols at the beginning of June, I took ibuprofen as directed on box for a few days and the odd day after that, has taken a while but only just started to feel ok in the last week, still gives me jip riding though, don't think the jumping off helps.
