As in title not horse related BUT I was wondering if anyone could help me by telling me where I stand with this and what options I have?

My garden backs onto the communal garden of a block of flats. We have a "summer house" at the end of our garden and a lot of trees between there and the house so it's difficult to see it. Anyway, kids from the flats (I would say their ages range from about 8-12) have been climbing up onto next doors shed and walking across onto our summer house (having the cheek to sit there and swing their legs). We had this all last summer and it's now starting again with the better weather. Not only do they do this, however, but then the dog goes mad barking at them and they even have the cheek to confront you when you ask them to clear off! We have received threats to the dog and myself ("I'll kick your dog" "I'll shoot you with my BB gun" for example..). Its just happening time and time again. We've had the community support officer round - you can imagine how much help she was - and she went to speak to the (hopeless, *****) parents but it continues. We're worried that they might get braver as they get older, as well

So any help at what we could do, where we stand and what not to do?

It's taking all the patience in the world not to drag these kids off the roof and strangle them, how rude and idiotic they're being  (what would happen if they fell off and hurt themselves? What if they were to wind up my dog so much that she bit them through sheer fright? - she's a rescue and her past is murky)

Big glass of wine and a treat for whoever read this! Thanks for any replies :)

Tar the roof of the summer house?would make it less appealing to walk and sit on...
How are they getting up onto it to start with?

This! ^^^^^ was just about to post the same... Tar or that paint that never quite dries...

To answer how they are getting over.. they are climbing over the wall of their garden, onto next door's shed and then over onto the summer house.

Its felted on top, can you paint/tar on top of this okay? Love the barbed wire idea Pixie ;)

You could def. tar over felt; paint - not sure. Sadly, barbed wire would be frowned upon in the Courts - as would razor wire, glass fragments and wiring the roof to the mains....

Several strands of electric fencing wire between your summer house & next doors shed...wired to a mains fencing unit of course :) id have though that would do the trick!

Shoot THEM with a BB gun? :)

I would, I really would, its peeing me off so badly! The cheek of some people eh? Thinking they have a right to be there. I feel sorry for those of you who have public footpaths running through your land, it must be an absolute nightmare :(

I would paint with something horrible and posibly some wire, i would however never confront them as this wil be part of the fun for them being abusive to you and upsetting the dog .

You could however borrow a nasty dog if you know one ,i would also keep going to the police and saying you feel threatened do not complain or say you would like to shoot the little buggers as you arent alloed to do this:rolleyes:

Play yourself as the victim which you are just dont allow them to know you could string the horrors up go to your citizens advice let the police know you have done this, for some reason the police respond better if you are not annoyed but scared of what is happening to you silly i know but seems to be the case, even if you have every right to be annoyed.

Definitely the non drying paint. With a sign that says it's there. Also those anti pigeon spike things. Not lethal - but definitely not comfortable.

Pick up all your dog do do's and put them on the roof. Nice and stinky they won't want to sit there!
