(Not horsey at alll)...My sons first day at high school today....

Firstly I cannot believe I am old enough to have a child at high school...don't know how that happened, I woke up one morning married with kids and a mortgage.....

....so off he went this morning in his slightly-too-long-at- the- sleeves blazer, got on the bus with his mates and disappeared. I have had no phone-call from school to ask why he isn't there so I assume he arrived at the right place on time

So...just feeling a little bit adrift today, sat here at work feeling old and getting older. Ho hum.

Bit of a pointless post really......anyone else in the same boat today or are you all too sickeningly young??

Think how old my mum must feel... my younger sister left secondary school this summer! No more uniforms to buy, ever! And I OUGHT to be going off to uni. My mum is ancient.

Eldest first day at high school yesterday,I was another one sat worrying all day as he has come from a very small village primary school so major culture shock for him,OH seemed oblivious to my worries,however obviously he was fine came home,dumped his bag,kicked off shoes and asked what was for tea.
Still got two toddlers at home though so no peace yet

Its the travelling thing....he doesnt usually go anywhere by bus and he isn't very streewise bless him....I'm sure he'll be fine......although part of me is waiting for a phonecall to say he has ended up god knows where and can I go collect him!

Aaagghh! Now I'm feeling old!

I don't have the adrift thing because my son went back to the UK two years ago to do his GCSEs, so I had all the heartbreak then - like sending them to boarding school I suppose.....

Yeah....I used to call my school a secondary school, but his is a ''posh'' one...'the Kings High School'......(well it used to be posh many many years ago when it was just boys, but now girls are there too...much to his delight

Amazing isn't it how quick the attitude changes. My daughter started secondary school on Monday and it's like getting blood out of a stone getting any info out of her.
'Did you have a good day?' - answer yes - thats it subject closed as far as she's concerned. Get more conversation out of pony and JRT's
 
My eldest (daughter) started at secondary school yesterday and is loving it so far! I wonder how long that will last. She has even opted to do the optional homework tonight!
 
I suddenly felt old today. Everything aches. Am I, at 46, too old for this lark?

Just you wait 'till he decides he wants to be educated at home. Ho hum. Got two of them at home now.

I, like you, suddenly woke up married, children, mortgage. Where did I go?
