I f you check out the posts in Competion rider HHO fit club, I think some one there mentioned the Kellogs Special K thing and they said it did work, but they hated having two meals of cereal twice a day for two weeks.
 
It probably would work, but afterwards you will only go back to your regular eating habits and be back to square one.

I'd suggest following a sensible 'diet' such as the Rosemary Conley diet - it is always laid out in the Magazines.

Basically, you have breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. First 2 weeks limited to 1200 cals then increased to 1500 cals.

Works really well, you only eat 'real' food - so you don't get hungry and can carry on a sensible eating regime once you have finished.

I lost 3 1/2 stones this way 2 years ago and have kept the weight off. I did put on 5lb at Christmas (who didn't) but lost it within 2 weeks by going back on the 1200 cals 'diet'.

You also don't have to cook separately for other family members.
