Sadly we lost our beautiful young kitty Oscar last friday (my baby boy

) and our other cat is pining.

We are looking for a kitten/young cat in the South Lins/North Norfolk/North Cambs area and ideally would like to give a poor kitty that has been abandoned a new home.

We've tried the local Cats Protection but nothing suitable at the moment - if anyone knows of and kittens/young cats in our area looking for new homes in a rural location with plenty of mousing available and 5 acres to play in could you pleae let me know?

Really missing my lovely boy, bless his heart. We have buried him in the garden with a tree next to him so he can watch the birds (he loved chasing them)

There are lots of other rescue centres for cats other than CPL you could try. Some people don't realise that Battersea Dogs Home also have cats.

Google "rescue cats or kittens" and lots of charities/organisations come up.

Really sorry to hear about Oscar - I know how hard it is to lose a much loved cat.
Are there any other rescue organisations around? We have some small local ones. I'm nowhere near you so not much help, but you may have similar near you.
The other thing that might be worth trying is rescue places for different breeds, although having spent ages trying to get a rescue Maine Coon we found the young cats tend to get snapped up quickly.
It sounds like you have a lovely home waiting for a lucky kitty - I hope you find one soon.

We've googled and not found anything remotely local

Nijinski - will try Blazegate but are they the RSPCA ones? Would prefer not to give any money to them

We're really missing the little lad - he was a gorgeous cat - brilliant mouser and loved being outside but also loved coming in for a cuddle too

I think so, Blazegate I think were originally Boxer rescue, they now board & rescue dogs which are nothing to do with the RSPCA but I think the cat part is.

On my road is Heron Feed Farm, she is always selling kittens.

Rung round vets so far but couldn't face it last weekend as was too soon and everywhere closed by the time I go home

Oh have looked on Tesco's notice board and Morrisons at Spalding

Going to try Peterborough Feeds at lunchtime

May not be any use at all and I am now admitting to reading some real trash magazines but i think it is Pick Me Up magazine that has on some of the pages about cats/dogs/rabbits etc for rehoming (it sort of at the side down several of the pages). I had noticed many cats they were specifically looking for homes where the cat would be more or less 'wild' or at leats live at stables.

may be worth a look anyway - maybe I shall go buy a magazine now and have a look (any excuse to read some trash! hee hee)

Hi ive been looking for kittens for a hwhile now and have been told its not kitten season. Have you tried Ad trader? if you type in kittens for sale in the area you live and something may come up...good luck

I'm not sure which Cats Protection League you've tried, but our next door neighbour works for them and was just saying the other day that she was full to overflowing with cats that need rehoming. We're just outside Sleaford, it might be worth giving her a call. I think this is the right number: 01529 488749.

I'm so sorry about poor Oscar

This one year old cat is in the RSPCA's Block Fen centre near March. She's had a rear leg amputated.

The other place would be perhaps adtrader, there are some in there I saw.

Awww - she looks like Oscar

We'd prefer one with 4 legs tbh (nothing against her) it's just I worry myself to death about her going on the road or a fox about - don't want black and white either - god I'm picky

Oh and def not from RSPCA! Rather not give them money and tbh we want one fairly quick as the other is pining for him. By the time RSPCA have done home checks and everything it'll be summer

Someone at work has just told me about some advertised on her village shop board.
